NBAA Recognizes Members With Flying Safety Awards, Including its First 90-Year-Award

The National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has announced its Flying Safety Award recipients for the period ending Dec. 31, 2021. More than 100 companies and flight department were recognized for accident-free flying, including Exxon Mobil, which received the association’s first 90-year award for safe operations.

These awards serve as a testimony to the high degree of professionalism and safety culture within participating companies.

Award recipients will be recognized during the National Safety Forum, taking place at  NBAA’s 2022  Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE), Oct. 18-20 in Orlando, FL.

The following companies were recognized with Safe Flying Achievement Awards:

50-Year Safe Flying Award Recipients:

  • Farm Bureau Life Insurance Co.

  • Genuine Parts Co.

  • MIT Lincoln Laboratory Flight Test Facility

  • New York Power Authority

60-Year Safe Flying Award Recipients:

  • Hormel Foods

  • Norfolk Southern

75-Year Safe Flying Award Recipients:

  • Corning, Inc.

  • Crow Executive Air, Inc.

  • KaiserAir, Inc.

90-Year Safe Flying Award Recipient:

  • Exxon Mobil

In addition to these milestones, NBAA recognized members in the following categories:

  • Corporate Business Flying Safety Award – 88 companies

  • Commercial Business Flying Safety Award – Eight companies

  • Aviation Maintenance Department Award – 54 companies qualified

The Flying Safety Awards program was launched in 1953 by the NBAA board of directors to promote a culture of safety in business aviation operations. The association is committed to making business aviation as safe as possible and encourages all members to participate in the awards program to enhance safe operations and gain recognition for their outstanding performance.
