Clark County Leaders to Welcome Largest Business Aviation Event Back and Highlight New Sustainability Initiatives
/Clark County civic leaders will gather Monday, Oct. 11 at 9:30 a.m. PDT to welcome the return of a world-leading convention that will drive economic activity with a sustainability focus.
The 2021 NBAA Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) will be held Tuesday through Thursday, Oct. 12-14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center and Henderson Executive Airport, which is owned and operated by Clark County’s Department of Aviation.
In 2019, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority estimated that the show generated approximately $40 million in economic activity throughout the week of the convention.
At the same time, event organizers have redoubled their focus on sustainability surrounding the show. NBAA has ensured that there is a growing supply of sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) at Henderson Executive Airport and McCarran International Airport during the show week. Use of the fuels can reduce aviation’s lifecycle carbon emissions by up to 80%.
The show’s all-new carbon-offset program – being introduced in Las Vegas – will make the convention one of the largest carbon-neutral trade shows in the nation. Additionally, nearly 100 show exhibitors have signed a brand-new “Green Pledge,” which offers a host of ways to mitigate their environmental footprint for the convention.
Taken together, the event’s economic benefit and sustainability measures reflect Clark County’s overall aim to promote local economic growth, while keeping a premium on sustainability, as outlined in Clark County’s Sustainability and Climate Action Plan, adopted earlier this year.
NBAA will hold a news conference with area leaders at Henderson Executive Airport to discuss how these and other efforts are part of the association’s continuing partnership with the County.
